This is the question I get asked the most. And honestly, it was the question I asked myself for the first 6 months.
You find something on Keepa. The BSR looks decent. The ROI calculator says 40%. You want to pull the trigger but something in the back of your head says "what am I missing?"
Here is what I wish someone showed me early on.
Stop looking at the numbers in isolation. A "good lead" is not just about ROI. It is about the story the Keepa graph is telling you.
Is the price stable or does it crash every 3 weeks? How many FBA sellers are on the listing and is that number going up or down? What does the 90 day sales rank look like vs the 30 day? Is there a seasonal pattern you are walking into at the wrong time?
These are the things that separate "this looks profitable" from "this IS profitable."
The only way to really learn this is to watch someone do it in real time. Not a pre-recorded walkthrough where everything is cherry picked. Real sourcing. Real decisions. Products that get rejected and products that make the cut and why.
