๐Ÿ† Member Spotlight โ€” Jay Hanan
This week I want to recognize @Jay Hanan . ๐Ÿ”ฅ A few weeks back Jay asked a simple question โ€” โ€œMy kids want to camp, any tips?โ€ Two girls, ages 3 and 7, ten years since heโ€™d been out there. What happened next is why I built this place. Yโ€™all showed up. Real advice. Real stories. No flexing. Just people helping a dad get his daughters started. But hereโ€™s what made it stick โ€” Jay went out, applied it, and came back to tell us. Grabbed a Thermacell for a wild boar trip, used it, reported back. Ask, apply, share. Thatโ€™s the loop. Jay is also building eXplorers ๐Ÿš€ โ€” a community for makers, engineers, and creators who use music to focus. 45+ years at the piano, live improvised sessions every week for deep work. If you run a business, build, write, or just need to lock in โ€” worth a look. ๐Ÿ‘‡ https://www.skool.com/innovate-5678/about Jay โ€” appreciate you. ๐Ÿค Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

Been heads-down for a few weeks on something I'm excited about.
https://app.campingwildernessskills.com/ A new tool for the kind of trips we plan in here โ€” built for hikers, paddlers, hammockers, and anyone who's tired of generic outdoor apps that don't speak our language. Where the map ends, the wild begins. Trip planner that actually understands what you're packing for. Coach trained on real outdoor experience, not generic AI. Skill gaps tracked per trip so you know what to work on before you go. Live mode with location sharing for the people back home. Journal that turns every trip into prep for the next one. Soft launch to this community first. More soon.

๐Ÿ”ฅSTART HERE โ€” DO THIS FIRST ๐Ÿงญ
Glad you're here. This community runs on field calls, not gear flex. ๐Ÿ‘† โœ… Your First Win (60 seconds): Drop ONE line in the comments: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Terrain type for your next 48 hours (woods / river corridor / mountains / desert / mixed) That's it. I'll reply with one steady fix to tighten your next trip. ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐ŸŽฏ Your First Milestone (within 7 days): Post your One-Screen 48-Hour Trip Plan (no locations): Not sure what some of these mean yet? That's exactly why you're here. Best guess is fine. - Terrain type - Time of year - Expected low temp - Sleep system (bag/quilt + pad) - Cook system (yes/no + stove type) - Water plan (filter/chemical/boil) - Pack weight estimate - #1 concern Keep it plain. Keep it honest. That's how you get better fast. ๐Ÿค™ Drop your ONE line below. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Where the Map Ends, The WILD begins!! Stay Rugged.

The Land That Won't Stop Trembling [OKEFENOKEE]
The word Okefenokee comes from the Muscogee Creek term meaning "land of trembling earth." The islands aren't really islands โ€” they're peat mats floating on water, and they actually shake when you step on them. Walk on solid ground out there, and the ground walks back. What's a place you've been where the land itself felt alive? ๐Ÿ‘‡
