Core VS. Knots

What are the thoughts on Core vs. Knots?
Do you know the difference between them?
If you could run one or the other or both--
What method would you take
Use a MAC?
Use a PC (with say 2TB ssd drive) 16GB Ram
Linux?
Using
Start9 DIY?
MyNode?
Umbrel?
Has anyone done this in this group? I asked AP about it and he was just getting started with it as am I . Spent alot of hours in the rabbit hole of YouTube and websites.
There are a ton more ?'s i have but figured I would not ask them all if no one was interested.
