The path is clearer than ever
Hello everyone, I want to share a quick personal story, and that becoming who you can and want to be doesn’t have to be a puzzle. This year, for the first time, I see a clear way out of my bad habit of scrolling endlessly. By the way, thank you, Devin. I often stopped scrolling after seeing one of your reels! For the last 8 years, video games and social media were the perfect escape. They gave me a break from the constant inner voice expecting inhumane perfection from me. And since losing time on video games was far from perfection, the voice got louder and grew my need for an escape, creating a vicious circle. But at that point, I had no understanding of the mechanisms inside me. I just blamed myself more for not being able to follow through on the promises I made to myself daily. For the last 8 years now, I’ve been trying new methods, creating plans, and setting weekly goals to stop falling back on easy dopamine. And I was still never managing to succeed for more than a few days. This built inside me a strong inner belief of being someone who doesn’t respect the promises he makes to himself + who has no discipline. Ouch… not easy, because now it felt like there were so many layers maintaining this reality. But this year, I understood that it really doesn’t have to be a puzzle. Nor an excruciating run of discipline and sheer will. Because I understood that you act according to the person you subconsciously believe you are. The identity you wear. It tints every decision, every word chosen, every thought you have. And so… shifting this identity is all that matters. Switch to an identity of someone who has all those things and more, and everything will fall into place. So before, I needed to attack the problem from every angle: general discipline, working on self-love and calming that inner voice, the inner beliefs that keep me in this cycle, etc. AHHHHHH Now I only need to do one thing: work on shifting my identity to someone who has all those things naturally. Ok, this doesn’t resolve the how, but it feels much more manageable.
Day 8 declaration
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well on your journey. These are my 3 habits. 1- The warrior wake-up Minimum standard being washing my hands and face with cold water, posture correction, standing or sitting up straight and tall for 2 minutes shoulders relaxed with deep breaths, affirming “I will lead my day with intention”. 2-Control the inputs Minimum Standard - Spending at least an hour of the morning after my warrior wakeup pouring into my family, no work, no checking emails, no phone calls unless it’s an emergency. This entails helping with morning bath time, helping with dishes or breakfast for my wife and child. Also evening awareness 5 minutes of journaling. What drained me today What grounded me today What am I manifesting for tomorrow. 3-Move the body, Clear the Mind Minimum standard is 20 minutes full body stretch routine focusing on mobility, joint and muscle health. These three habits matter to me because they keep me grounded, confident and battle ready, while allowing me to not only pour into myself but also my family. For the next 23 days, I am committing to becoming someone who is consistent with my habits , stronger mentally, physically and emotionally and more confident in myself where my promises to self are concerned.
Morning meditation is finally starting to stick
I’ve always known meditation was powerful. Over the past decade, I’ve dibbled and dabbled with it plenty of times, but I never built a practice that actually lasted. That started changing when I went through the Seven-Day Reset and became more intentional about not checking my phone first thing in the morning. Because I don’t usually have to wake up at a specific time, I’ve started turning my phone completely off at night and leaving it downstairs. When I wake up, I go straight into our guest room, sit down, and do box breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds Hold for 4 Exhale for 4 Hold for 4 I don’t give myself a specific time requirement. Some mornings it’s two minutes, and other mornings it might be 15. Ironically, even though I’m doing box breathing, I don’t want to put myself in a box lol. The second I tell myself I have to meditate for 20 minutes every day, it starts feeling like another obligation. Keeping it flexible makes it much easier for me to stay consistent. Once I’m done, my reward is getting access to my phone. And trust me, I definitely want to check it. I want to see my emails, new members joining our Skool communities, revenue, notifications, and everything else that happened overnight. The first two weeks were hard, but today I noticed my meditation felt much deeper and my focus was noticeably better. Nothing complicated. I’m just training myself to slow down, breathe, and center myself before giving the outside world access to my attention. It all started with the Seven-Day Reset.

6am BJJ working on clearing my schedule so I can hit it consistently. BJJ brings an immense amount of understanding and peace. On top of that, a phenomenal community. Made sure I went to sleep early enough and didn't make excuses when I woke up. Slapped water in my face, and told myself I'm about to kill it on the mats 💪🏽💪🏽🤙🏽
