Yesterday, it became very clear to me againwhat it really meansthat we always have a choice.
In every single moment.
We can choose to lookor to turn away.
We can choose to distract ourselvesor to go deeper.
We can choose to face ourselvesor to run.
And this is exactly what “stepping in instead of stepping out” really means.
At the beginning, I understood it in a different way.
I saw it more as stepping out of the systemand stepping into our own system.
Into what we want.Into our own way of living.
And I knew there was something deeper in it.Something spiritual.
But I didn’t fully seehow precise this actually is.
Because it is not just about big decisions.
It is every moment.
In every moment, the question is here:
Do I stay,or do I move away?
Do I go in,or do I distract myself?
And this is what I experienced again today.
We can distract ourselves with anything.
Even with what we call our individuality.
Even with the things we say,“This is just who I am.”
The ego finds very creative waysto keep us moving on the surface.
To keep us from really going in. And still, it moves us awayfrom meeting what is actually here.
And this is where the practice begins.
To notice.
To see it in the moment.
And to choose again.
To step in.
Into what is real.Into what is present.Into ourselves.
And again, the breath brings us back.
Back into awareness.Back into the body.Back into the moment.
Back into us
