I just want to say how grateful I am that I found this community. I was able to get a lunchtime shooting session in today. I did some form warm up then did one of the challenges Grant had last year with the paper plate. I then switched to thirty shots varying the position, angle, and distance on every shot (more on that in a minute). For the paper plate drill I did one shot at a time, in rounds of three, for five rounds or fifteen shots. The pictures are from two months ago and today and show a measurable improvement in consistency and how many of the fifteen shots are in the inner 5.5” part of the plate. I was consistently a little left on this drill/challenge but interestingly that wasn’t the case for my warm up shots or the thirty position, angle, distance shots. After doing the challenge I decided to really focus on position, angle, and distance between 5 - 12 yds. No shot was repeated and I changed up the position (standing/sitting/kneeling), angle, and distance on every shot. I have 4” fletching on my arrows and every shot was within fletching distance of my focal point and almost all were half of that. My left/right was also solid across the thirty shots. Probably the thirty most confident shots I’ve ever taken with a traditional bow. Sorry for the long post but this is my third go at shooting traditional. I really think finding this group and the resources that are here have made a huge difference for me this time.
