Due to an injury I may have to be changing my setup. Previously, I’ve run 45 pound bows, longbow and recurve, and a 580-625 grain arrow. I may require to reduce my draw weight as much as possible. The minimum draw weight in Maine hunting is 35 pounds. I will probably be looking to shoot no less than that in the off season to try and keep comfortable with it. For what it’s worth, at 45# I was able to shoot 60+ arrows a day without an issue. Since the injury with 45#, 4 arrows in, my arm was unstable and after 8 arrows, I was gassed. All that said, I’d like to stay at the 12+ gpi arrows if I go down to 35# as most of my hunting is no further than 12 yards so loss of speed isn’t critical. I’m curious of what any of you may have for light poundage setups.
