Member's Question for Sue
Hey everyone! Here's a question from one of our members Sue inside our WhatsApp Chat Group. I'm posting here because I don't answer questions in that chat thread as as it was set up to be a peer support, accountability and book reviews chat group for Book Boss Students. ____ Hi @Abbie cornall strange question but… I have booked w/c 13th October off work - my plan is to spend the whole week creating and listing at least one winter/xmas word search and at least one journal/log book for the new year…. However, my manager has obviously forgotten and just scheduled a training mtg during that week… and I’m trying to decide whether to be soft and postpone my week off or stick with it. I know that time really is of the essence in getting seasonal stuff listed so do you think I would be cuttng it too fine if I moved my holiday week to the last week in Oct (bear in mind I’ve not yet even created a kdp account or listed anything before so I might have delays in getting used to uploading and getting books approved etc). I’m happy to move my Hol to the following week ONLY if the extra week is not to the detriment of the books because getting this off the ground is my priority. Xx Actually I don’t think I can have the following week off cos it’s half term and other team members are already off - would first week of November be cutting it too fine? _____ So my answer to this is really going back to my post from a couple of days ago....... we really need to look at the big picture of what we are trying to actually achieve here and what our big long term goal is and what can we do THIS week and NEXT WEEK and THIS MONTH and NEXT MONTH to get ourselves moving forwards with those big goals. Trying to cram book bossing into annual leave is really not the way to go with this because it is going to lead to resentment and frustration. Remember what I said the other day about my first 22 books not making any sales at all for months and months. Imagine taking annual leave. Book bossing like crazy. Publishing those books and then getting zero sales. How would you feel about carrying on after that?
