Safety before Strategy
Most behaviour strategies fail for one simple reason.
They are applied before the nervous system is ready.
When a child is overwhelmed, the brain shifts into protection mode.
In that state:
• Reasoning doesn't land
• Consequences don't teach
• Lectures don't work
Not because a child refuses.
Because the brain cannot access learning while it feels unsafe.
Safety restores the conditions for cooperation.
Safety before strategy. Always. 💚
Where do you notice this most in your day?
