💄 Welcome to the Makeup Masterclass Community! 💫
👋 New here? Start here This is the spot to introduce yourself; anytime, not just your first day. Tell me: 🎨 Where are you in your journey (just starting, working pro, somewhere in between) 💭 What's the ONE skill or technique that still makes you nervous ✨ One look, photo, or piece of work you're proud of (even a phone pic — I want to see it) I comment on every single intro, so don't hold back. This community grows when we actually see each other not when we just lurk. 💛 Drop yours below 👇
Lighting Temp (Kelvin)
If you apply makeup in "yellow" (warm) light, you will apply it too heavy and cool. Aim for 5400K - 5600K lighting. This mimics daylight so your client looks good everywhere. What lighting setup do you use? Ring light? Glamcor? Window light?
Product knowledge & Colour theory
So this was a beautiful life with one of my students registered in my Skool platform. We discussed colour selection and colour theory and also how to build your own kit. If you have any other questions always feel free to reach out to me.

Calculating CODB
Cost of Doing Business (CODB). If you charge $100 but spend $30 on product, $20 on gas, and $20 on insurance, you only made $30. You must calculate fixed costs before setting prices. Be honest: Do you know exactly how much profit you make per face? (Yes/No).
Film Formers in Setting Sprays
Not all sprays set makeup. Some just "melt" powders (like Mac Fix+). To lock makeup, you need film formers like PVP or Acrylates. Read the back of the bottle! Go look at your setting spray ingredients. Does it have PVP? Let us know in the comments.
