I am considering developing a virtual Civil Rights lesson for middle and high school!
This would not be a surface level biography lesson.
  • It would focus on:
  • How systems protected injustice
  • What Black resilience looks like after lost
  • How grief becomes long term activism
  • Why justice sometimes takes decades
The framing is trauma informed and agency centered. The focus is endurance, strategy, and institutional change.
Intended age group:
Ages 12 and up
Grades 7 through 12
Because the lesson discusses assassination and racial injustice, it is not designed for elementary students.
Before I build the full slide deck and materials, I would love to know:
  • Would you enroll your student?
  • Would you attend as a family session?
  • Would you want this as a one time workshop or part of a short series on Black resilience?
Comment or message me if interested.
