🥊🇨🇭 Léon Salijevic vs Warren Brelleur — Kick Light (-70 kg) 🇫🇷
🏆 XFC European Championship 2026 in Rome
After capturing his first European belt, Léon Salijevic immediately entered another category to face French fighter Warren Brelleur in Kick Light under 70 kg.
And at that point, the level rose even higher.
Standing in front of him was a true product of French kickboxing. Warren Brelleur had recently won a major kickboxing gala in Brittany and arrived with an extremely high technical level. Coached by three coaches, he displayed a style that was fast, powerful, explosive, and highly polished.
Very quickly, the fight became extremely difficult for Léon. The French fighter hit hard, applied constant pressure, and truly pushed Léon to his limits.
But often, it is in the hardest moments that true fighters reveal themselves.
It is important to understand that Léon is first and foremost one of the best fighters on our team in boxe libre, with methods and reflexes very close to MMA. His dream is clearly to build a future career in MMA.
And under pressure, when facing difficult situations, some of his free-fighting instincts naturally returned. Several times, he grabbed the opponent’s leg to attempt a takedown, which is completely forbidden in this discipline.
The referee immediately warned him, and at one point we were even close to disqualification.
The opposing corner later tried to use that penalty situation after Léon threw a very high kick while Warren ducked underneath to evade it. The movement created very close contact near the face with Léon’s knee, which would have been illegal. However, the referees immediately understood the action correctly: it was clearly a high kick and not an intentional knee strike. No damage was caused and the fight continued.
And what a fight it was…
The technical level from both athletes was exceptional. Warren attempted several extremely dangerous spinning kicks that Léon narrowly managed to avoid. Honestly, if one of those had landed cleanly, it probably would have ended the fight immediately.
But Léon had decided that this story would end differently.
Despite the difficulty, the pressure, and the power of the French fighter, Léon kept moving forward and imposing his aggressive, combative style.
At the end of the fight, Léon Salijevic earned a split decision victory and captured his second XFC European belt. 🏆🇨🇭
One of the three French coaches even refused to shake Léon’s hand after the decision, believing his fighter had been robbed. But honestly, from our perspective, Léon had clearly imposed the harder and more combative style while putting his opponent under real pressure.
The other two French coaches later apologized for their colleague’s behavior, and we all shook hands respectfully afterward.
As for the French fighter himself, he accepted the decision with true sportsmanship, fully aware that this type of fight could have gone either way and that at this level, you must leave no doubt in the judges’ minds.
I am extremely proud of Léon. He fully deserved this second European belt. And some of the technical actions he displayed during this fight were simply exceptional. 👊🔥

Après avoir décroché une première ceinture européenne, Léon Salijevic repart immédiatement dans une autre catégorie pour affronter le Français Warren Brelleur, en Kick Light moins de 70 kg.
Et là, le niveau monte encore d’un cran.
Face à lui, un pur produit du kickboxing français. Warren Brelleur venait tout juste d’être titré récemment lors d’un gala en Bretagne et arrive avec un niveau technique impressionnant. Il est coaché par trois coachs et possède un style extrêmement propre, rapide, puissant et explosif.
Très rapidement, le combat devient extrêmement difficile pour Léon. Le Français frappe fort, impose énormément de pression et pousse réellement Léon dans ses retranchements.
Mais c’est souvent dans les moments les plus compliqués qu’on découvre les vrais combattants.
Il faut comprendre que Léon est avant tout un des meilleurs combattants de notre équipe en boxe libre, avec une méthodologie et des réflexes très proches du MMA. Son rêve est clairement de faire carrière dans cette discipline.
Et sous la pression, lorsqu’il se retrouve en difficulté sur certaines séquences, ses automatismes de boxe libre reviennent naturellement. À plusieurs reprises, il saisit la jambe adverse pour partir en projection, ce qui est totalement interdit dans cette discipline.
L’arbitre l’avertit immédiatement et nous nous retrouvons même à la limite de la disqualification.
Le coin adverse tente ensuite de jouer avec cette pénalité lorsqu’un high kick de Léon monte très haut et que Warren plonge pour esquiver. Le contact se fait alors très proche du genou au visage, ce qui aurait été interdit. Mais les arbitres voient immédiatement l’action correctement : il s’agissait bien d’un high kick et non d’un coup de genou volontaire. Aucun dommage n’est causé et le combat reprend.
Et quel combat…
Le niveau technique est exceptionnel des deux côtés. Warren tente plusieurs coups de pied retournés extrêmement dangereux que Léon réussit à esquiver de justesse. Honnêtement, s’il en prenait un proprement, cela aurait probablement mis fin au combat immédiatement.
Mais cette histoire-là, Léon avait décidé qu’elle s’écrirait autrement.
Malgré la difficulté, malgré la pression, malgré la puissance du Français, Léon continue d’avancer, d’imposer son style combatif et son engagement physique.
À l’issue du combat, Léon Salijevic s’impose finalement par décision partagée et décroche sa deuxième ceinture européenne XFC. 🏆🇨🇭
L’un des trois coachs français refusera même de saluer Léon après la décision, estimant que son combattant avait été volé. Mais honnêtement, pour nous, Léon avait clairement imposé un style plus dur, plus combatif et avait réellement mis son adversaire en difficulté.
Les deux autres coachs français viendront ensuite s’excuser du comportement de leur collègue et nous nous serrerons tous la main dans le respect.
Quant au combattant français lui-même, il acceptera la décision avec beaucoup de fair-play, conscient que ce type de combat pouvait basculer d’un côté comme de l’autre et qu’à ce niveau, il faut réussir à mettre tout le monde d’accord sans discussion possible.
Je suis extrêmement fier de Léon. Cette deuxième ceinture, il la mérite amplement. Et certains des gestes techniques qu’il a réalisés durant ce combat étaient tout simplement exceptionnels. 👊🔥

Después de conquistar su primer cinturón europeo, Léon Salijevic volvió inmediatamente al combate en otra categoría para enfrentarse al francés Warren Brelleur en Kick Light menos de 70 kg.
Y en ese momento, el nivel subió todavía más.
Frente a él estaba un auténtico producto del kickboxing francés. Warren Brelleur venía de ganar recientemente un importante gala de kickboxing en Bretaña y llegó con un nivel técnico impresionante. Entrenado por tres entrenadores, mostraba un estilo rápido, potente, explosivo y extremadamente limpio técnicamente.
Muy rápidamente, el combate se volvió extremadamente difícil para Léon. El francés golpeaba fuerte, imponía mucha presión y llevó realmente a Léon hasta sus límites.
Pero muchas veces es precisamente en los momentos más difíciles cuando aparecen los verdaderos luchadores.
Hay que entender que Léon es ante todo uno de los mejores luchadores de nuestro equipo en boxe libre, con una metodología y reflejos muy cercanos al MMA. Su sueño es claramente construir una carrera en esa disciplina.
Y bajo presión, cuando se encontraba en dificultad, sus automatismos de boxe libre aparecieron de forma natural. En varias ocasiones atrapó la pierna de su rival intentando buscar una proyección, algo totalmente prohibido en esta disciplina.
El árbitro lo advirtió inmediatamente y en un momento estuvimos incluso cerca de la descalificación.
El rincón francés intentó después aprovechar esa penalización cuando Léon lanzó un high kick muy alto y Warren se agachó para esquivarlo. El movimiento creó un contacto muy cercano con la rodilla hacia el rostro, lo cual habría sido ilegal. Sin embargo, los árbitros entendieron inmediatamente la acción correctamente: era claramente un high kick y no un rodillazo voluntario. No hubo daños y el combate continuó.
Y qué combate…
El nivel técnico de ambos atletas fue excepcional. Warren lanzó varios giros y patadas giratorias extremadamente peligrosas que Léon logró esquivar por muy poco. Honestamente, si uno de esos golpes hubiera conectado limpiamente, probablemente el combate habría terminado allí mismo.
Pero Léon había decidido que esta historia terminaría de otra manera.
A pesar de la dificultad, de la presión y de la potencia del francés, Léon continuó avanzando e imponiendo su estilo agresivo y combativo.
Al final del combate, Léon Salijevic se impuso por decisión dividida y conquistó su segundo cinturón europeo XFC. 🏆🇨🇭
Uno de los tres entrenadores franceses incluso se negó a saludar a Léon después de la decisión, convencido de que le habían robado el combate a su luchador. Pero honestamente, desde nuestro punto de vista, Léon había impuesto un estilo más duro y más combativo, poniendo realmente en dificultades a su adversario.
Los otros dos entrenadores franceses se disculparon posteriormente por el comportamiento de su compañero y todos terminamos estrechándonos la mano con respeto.
En cuanto al luchador francés, aceptó la decisión con mucho fair-play, consciente de que este tipo de combate podía caer para cualquiera de los dos lados y que a este nivel hay que dejar a todos de acuerdo sin discusión posible.
Estoy extremadamente orgulloso de Léon. Merece ampliamente este segundo cinturón europeo. Y algunos de los gestos técnicos que realizó durante este combate fueron simplemente excepcionales. 👊🔥
