Resting in Jesus
Matthew 11:28-29 says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Life can be overwhelming. The weight of responsibilities, the pressures of performance, the pain of loss or uncertainty. All of it can feel like too much to carry. Jesus knows this. He doesn’t ask us to pretend we’re strong enough on our own. Instead, He invites us to come to Him, just as we are: weary, burdened, and in need. Jesus also says, “Take my yoke upon you.” A yoke is a wooden harness used to join two animals together for labor. By inviting us into His yoke, He’s not promising a life without effort. But He is promising that we won’t carry it alone. His strength carries the load, His grace sustains us, and His presence gives us peace. Rest in Jesus this week! I’m Praying For You!
Stay Focused!
One thing that has really helped me in situations I don’t want to be in (example: working a job I hate, family and friend drama, etc.) is to stay focused on my goals both spiritually and naturally. Keeping your mind on what really matters helps to eliminate distractions that don’t matter. I’m praying for you all! Keep moving forward in Jesus name!
Trusting the Will of God
Romans 12:2 (ESV) gives us insight into how we align with His will: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” God’s will isn’t random. It is good, acceptable, and perfect. When we allow His Spirit to renew our thinking, we gain clarity on His purpose for our lives. Often, we long for specific answers—directions, open doors, or solutions—but God’s will is less about a roadmap and more about relationship. It’s trusting Him day by day, step by step. I’m Praying For You!
Reflecting on the Disciples’ Calling
The twelve disciples were ordinary men—fishermen, a tax collector, a zealot—called by an extraordinary Savior. Jesus didn’t choose the most learned or the most pious; He chose those willing to follow, to learn, and to be transformed. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide…” — John 15:16 (ESV) This reminds us that Jesus’ call is not based on merit, but on His purpose. He called them not only to be with Him but also to be sent out—to preach, to heal, and to bear witness. A Lesson from the Disciples: Obedience Over Understanding When Jesus called Simon Peter and Andrew, they didn’t ask for the full itinerary. They responded immediately.“Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.” — Matthew 4:22 (ESV) Faith often begins with obedience before understanding. I’m Praying For You!
