Matthew 11:28-29 says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Life can be overwhelming. The weight of responsibilities, the pressures of performance, the pain of loss or uncertainty. All of it can feel like too much to carry. Jesus knows this. He doesn’t ask us to pretend we’re strong enough on our own. Instead, He invites us to come to Him, just as we are: weary, burdened, and in need.
Jesus also says, “Take my yoke upon you.” A yoke is a wooden harness used to join two animals together for labor. By inviting us into His yoke, He’s not promising a life without effort. But He is promising that we won’t carry it alone. His strength carries the load, His grace sustains us, and His presence gives us peace.
Rest in Jesus this week!
I’m Praying For You!
