I ran a 15-day test with one outbound AI voice agent inside my previous business (before I exited) to see what happens when follow-up is executed consistently at scale.
Here’s what I learned:
- People don’t mind talking to AI.Most of the resistance is in the owner’s head, not the market.
- A good agent is the most reliable “rep” you’ll ever deploy. It doesn’t get tired, doesn’t drift off-script, and it improves as you refine inputs.
- Bookings are great. Connections are the hidden win. When the agent doesn’t book, it still creates signal. The sales team gets notified, tags get applied, and humans follow up warm.
- You don’t replace your sales team. You narrow it. Less time on repetitive chasing. More time on high-quality follow-up and closing. KPIs settle the debate. Ignore opinions. Compare your current process KPIs vs the AI-assisted process. If the numbers don’t improve, it’s not “AI”—it’s a bad system.
