Career
In recent weeks I have been seriously considering pursuing a career in the electrical trades, because college just isn’t doing much for me and I would like a steady career to (hopefully) support a future marriage someday. I have applied to some local companies for an apprenticeship, and I’m waiting to hear back. Prayers would be much appreciated, as this is a huge leap forward for me personally—I have no experience or knowledge whatsoever in any trade. God bless.
Would you die for your family?
This is my contribution today. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DO04797j9gp/?igsh=ZjB3bmZmcXl4aTc2 This opened my eyes and gave me a different view of motivating myself. I know I still have to start small, be consistent, and savor the fruits of my labors, BUT why do I do it? What needs to be truly done that I can say I would die for my family? Does it mean die slowly from deadly sins or does it mean be ready to protect at all costs?

Using Advent to Start New Year's Resolutions (and BJJ training Plan)
This advent I decided to use this time, as I prepare for Christ, to prepare my time better. I decided to write some SMART goals. One was, by the end of the first week I would restrict my worst apps - instagram especially - so I wouldn't scroll constantly. I also just listened to an episode of Pints with Aquinas with the founder of Shift. I don't think I'm ready for shift yet, but I restricted the apps on my phone (10 mins a day for all social media apps). Another SMART goal is to create a workout plan for jiu jitsu. I just started it but found that I have trouble retaining the info I learn in my classes. I came back on this app to keep myself accountable. If anybody else here has the same goal of getting better at BJJ, I'd like to connect! I don't want this to be another doom scrolling app but a tool to improve myself.

62 Strong Challenge
15 minute body weight workout as part of the 62 Strong Challenge that started yesterday. Had to take some humbling “before” pics. 6:15 “heavy” session with my trainer this morning (bench, bicep curls, abs). Did another workout for the 62 String Challenge this morning. Definitely feeling it in my best and biceps. Will be sore tomorrow. 💪🏻
