I'm Mike, I used to make biscuits (cookies) and ship them worldwide.
For eight years I made cookies, starting in my home kitchen, expanding to a factory then outsourcing before selling my business in 2025. My biggest stumbling block to profit and baking happily was packaging. Jaw sealers, L-sealers, flow wrappers, infill, inners, outers... the endless list of packing nightmares. I'm here to help. Hopefully you can help other people out too with your experience. I started selling online in the 90's, everything from underwater camera equipment to pallets of cookies have left my house or factory at some point. Ask questions, share experiences and let us know what you sell and what worked or didn't work. Share photos of your workspace and your packaging too.
Happy New Year!
I have a slightly different type of packaging project this Christmas. I've been playing Minecraft, Heroes of the Village boardgame with my son and the box came as a hollow cardboard shell. Working with my daughter, we designed a box interior to hold all the pieces, making them easy to sort and remove. Next step is to model it in CAD software, then 3D print it. Has anyone been working on a fun packaging project or get any noteworthy packaging over the holidays?
Happy New Year!
Hello Everyone
Hi, I am Sarah, still new to the community, Looking forward to connecting with nice people here.
Will it break?
I've been playing with this concept for a couple of months now - slightly hampered by snow and freezing rain. I want to test different void fills in various boxes with glass and see what configurations of packaging work the best (and worst). My first round of tests were all successful - the glass didn't break, which was also unsuccessful, as even the worst packaging I tried didn't break the glasses. Useful information of course, but a really boring video. I have since come up with a series of tests and packaging simulations to trial which I am now working on. When I have the results I'll share them on here and weather permitting, retry a few of them live on video. In the meantime, I came across this article while doing my research for this week's email: https://www.axios.com/local/seattle/2025/12/09/amazon-crash-test-packaging-lab-holiday-shipping-waste-environment Would you drop test a 65" TV? 🫣
