You’re probably building your campaigns backwards
Most peeps start with the letter.
They’ll spend 3 hours tweaking one sentence…
Agonising over whether to say “revenue” or “growth”…
Rewriting the opener SIX times.
Meanwhile they’re sending it to a dodgy list they scraped together in 10 minutes.
That’s like putting racing stripes on a car with no engine.
Here’s the actual priority order for lumpy mail campaigns:
1. THE DATA
Are you sending it to the RIGHT person at the right company?
Get this wrong and nothing else matters.
2. THE FOLLOW-UP
The gift gets their attention.
Following up turns that attention into a conversation.
Be a friendly dog that won’t leave their ankles alone.
3. THE OFFER
Is what you’re proposing actually worth a coffee date?
If the answer’s “meh”… see ya later.
4. THE COPY
Yes, the letter matters.
It just matters LESS than the other three.
Most beginners work this list from the bottom up.
They perfect the words… neglect the follow-up… wing the offer… and barely think about the data.
Flip it around.
Next campaign you build or improve… start at number 1 and work DOWN.
