Grand Rising, Often we confuse autobiographical stories with memoirs. Knowing the difference between the two will help you to understand and decide which one is best for you. An autobiography can have several layers of information about your personal life usually starting as early as childhood. Though you can start later around the early teen years either way it’s truly your life journey. A memoir is about choosing a part of your life where something happened and it becomes your entry point. This event may have triggered a whole career, mind shift, or personal situation that you feel makes for a good story. Both of them are a great way for you to share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas with others through a story. Knowing which one to choose will dictate how to tell the story and how much to share based on your choice. If you are stuck on deciding which one is best for you then take some time to explore inwardly exactly what story resonates the most. Is it a slice of your life that feels most potent or your whole story that gives a full picture of who you are and who you have become. Have you decided on what kind of book project you are going to focus on and stick too despite the noise? Noise distracts, causes delays and keeps you from getting things done. Suggestions: 👉🏽 Set reasonable time blocks to write. 👉🏽 Deep dive into the back story of each character or case study that you can’t wait to sit and develop them fully. 👉🏽 Give every story texture and depth - no surface writing ✍🏽 take it deep so your reader feels what you felt while writing. 👉🏽 Complex plots and complex characters make it difficult for readers to understand or follow. 👉🏽Try keeping strong storylines while telling a true and compelling story. Avoid fluff folks know when you’ve lost your way while writing.
