With all the bad weather reports and pending storms I began thinking about my own story and how much I love to read and write during rainy or bad weather. Thoughts of my childhood and schooling comes to mind. When the world gets still I can focus on adding to what I already have. It just feels right and fair that I can steer my thoughts towards something that causes my brain and body to focus on building an IP that will outlive me. Every storm, all the rain and even the clouds are a signal that I can have me time to write too. How about you? When do you feel it’s the best time for you to write? Mapping out your story helps to clarify things before you begin writing. Some writers are good with just flowing. There is no right or wrong way it's just easier when you have a plan. Map out: Genre - what story you are telling and to who. Characters - who are the main players? Protagonist? Antagonist? Supporting characters? Environment - where do your characters interact (what kind of environment are they in) Location - where does the story take place? Personally when I have given myself room to think about the above mentioned things it made writing so much easier.
