Melt together the orchestra

Hello friends,

I have been doing some orchestral stuff for a little while now but I still can't figure out how to 'melt' the orchestra together. Mine sounds like everything is there but not playing together in harmony.

How do I connect the strings for example? Am I doing something wrong with subtle compressions? Mixing or mastering?

Sometimes it sounds too boomy/woofy in the mids and then I cut them, leave some open for some instrument that needs the mids but it's still weird and too much and chaotic. It just doesn't sound right.

I try not to add too much stuff to prevent chaos but when I wanna do more full orchestra you gotta add things to make it dynamic.
