Today I wrote an article on LinkedIn about setting OKRs the right way.
The back story, I was sitting down with a fellow entrepreneur and friend at the Guatemala City airport. I was in Guatemala doing mindset work with my mastermind coach and peers. That's a whole different story I will write about eventually.
We talked about one of his businesses and realized that his business was facing what I have seen in many others: a lack of inspiring OKRs.
I have been training teams on OKRs and now realize that I have to go long on spreading the knowledge here, because OKRs are such a powerful tool for running a business.
Yet, like everything in life, it's all about the details.
If you don't have a clear, bold vision/BHAG that speaks to your team, it's hard to get them excited about OKRs.
OKRs run the risk of turning into Corporate Theater. Something people do to get your bosses off your back.
If that's what it is for you, that's your sign that you are doing it all wrong.
Anyhow, I uploaded my Setting OKRs the right way for founders presentation. Check it out. I will record a video with additional insights on it.
For now, you can also check out the article on Linkedin.
Happy Saturday.
