You’ll arrive at Class on your 6 foot leash tonight. Here are sample videos showing the length of the line does not matter. You have used your 15 foot line all week long to work on your handling and attention. Notice both lines regardless of length are loose and my hands are hanging naturally at my sides and not gripping the leash or restraining the dog. The readiness test is to be done at a blind corner and I will need everyone to submit that however, if you’ve done your homework, this is ideally how you will always enter doorways from now moving forward. Anytime. Any place.

I thought it might be useful to brainstorm some ideas for the different types of distractions for our line walking in Ob 1. Ideas so far… Prey- some flowy toys attached to a short shepherd’s hook, I think it’d be cool to figure out to incorporate moving tennis balls or a remote control car, but I’m not sure how to make that work my myself. Defense- wireless tools like a leaf blower, maybe figure out how to keep a drill going with some tape. I think it’d be great to use a lawnmower and a vacuum cleaner, but my yard isn’t large enough. Social- I suppose this will be the easiest for many, but I live by myself and my friends are fairly busy and far away. I’m hoping to wrangle my neighbor into helping me at least once, but mostly I’ll probably try to make use of the parks in my area. Some areas have a decent amount of kids playing at all times, some have swimming/water areas (soon to be closed), some have basketball, some have a skateboard park. Why are some things the rest of you are planning to use?
