🌿 Feeling Exhausted, Foggy and Unheard? Your Hormones May Hold the Clues
🌿 You’re Not Going Mad — Your Body May Be Asking for Support You finally book a GP appointment because you feel exhausted, foggy, emotional and unlike yourself. But the appointment feels rushed. You have only a few minutes, your brain fog takes over, and you forget half of what you wanted to say. You leave feeling unheard, frustrated and no closer to understanding what is happening. Does this sound familiar? Hormonal dysregulation can sometimes present through symptoms such as: ⚖️ Unexplained weight gain 😴 Persistent fatigue 🧠 Brain fog and poor concentration 🌙 Disrupted sleep 🔥 Hot flushes or night sweats 💇 Hair thinning or hair loss 🧴 Dry skin, acne or skin changes 😣 Low mood, anxiety or irritability 🩸 Heavy, painful or irregular periods 💗 Changes in libido 🍫 Cravings and blood sugar fluctuations 🦋 Constipation, feeling cold or struggling with energy These symptoms can have many possible causes, which is why it is important to look at the whole picture rather than focusing on one symptom or one test result. The NHS and our hardworking GPs provide an essential service, but short appointments do not always allow enough time to explore complex symptoms in depth. That is where I can help. At Anne Andrew Nutrition, I give women and men the time and space to feel genuinely heard. I take a detailed look at your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, nutrition, medications and existing blood results. Where appropriate, I can also arrange functional testing through Regenerus, including the DUTCH dried urine hormone test, which provides a comprehensive assessment of hormone patterns and hormone metabolism. Testing is never used in isolation. Your results are considered alongside your symptoms and wider health picture to help identify areas that may require further support or medical investigation. I offer personalised 6-week and 12-week programmes, designed using my extensive background in healthcare, nursing and integrative functional nutrition. You will not be rushed.

🌿 Feeling Exhausted, Foggy and Unheard? Your Hormones May Hold the Clues
🌿 Are Your Hormones Trying to Get Your Attention?
🌿 Could Your Hormones Be Trying to Tell You Something? Weight gain that feels difficult to shift, changes in your skin, low energy or disrupted sleep may not simply be down to “getting older” or lacking willpower. Signs that may be worth exploring include: ⚖️ Unexplained weight gain, particularly around the middle 😴 Persistent fatigue or low motivation 🌙 Poor sleep or waking during the night 🧠 Brain fog, low mood, anxiety or irritability 🩸 Irregular, heavy or painful periods 🔥 Hot flushes or night sweats 💇‍♀️ Hair thinning or increased hair shedding 🧴 Dry, oily, itchy or acne-prone skin 🍫 Increased cravings or difficulty balancing blood sugar 🦋 Feeling unusually cold, sluggish or constipated 💗 Changes in libido or vaginal health Nutrition plays an important role in hormone health. Adequate protein, healthy fats, fibre, colourful vegetables and balanced meals can support blood sugar regulation, gut health, hormone production and the healthy elimination of hormones. However, diet is only one part of the picture. 🧪 Functional testing may help us look more deeply at potential underlying drivers, including: 🔬 Thyroid function and thyroid antibodies 🔬 Blood sugar and insulin regulation 🔬 Nutrient levels, including vitamin D, iron, B12 and folate 🔬 Stress and cortisol patterns 🔬 Sex-hormone metabolism 🔬 Gut health and the microbiome 🔬 Nutrigenomics and how your genes may influence hormone pathways Testing should always be selected carefully and interpreted alongside your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, medications and existing NHS or GP results. You do not have to accept feeling exhausted, uncomfortable or unlike yourself simply because your routine blood tests have been described as “normal.” 💚 At Anne Andrew Nutrition, I help you connect the dots through personalised nutrition, lifestyle support and functional testing where appropriate. 📞 Why not book a free discovery call and explore what may be contributing to your symptoms? 🌐 AnneAndrewNutrition.com

🔥 Feeling Drained? Your Electrolytes Could Be Running Low 💧⚡
☀️ Feeling unusually tired in the heat? Don’t forget your hydration! 💧 With another UK heatwave bringing temperatures into the mid-30s, it is especially important to keep your fluids topped up throughout the day. When we sweat, we lose water alongside electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and magnesium. These minerals support: ⚡ Energy production 🧠 Concentration and mental clarity 💪 Normal muscle function ❤️ Healthy nerve and heart function 💧 Fluid balance within the body Even mild dehydration may leave you feeling: 🥱 Fatigued or sluggish 🤕 Headachy 😵‍💫 Dizzy or light-headed 🧠 Foggy and unable to concentrate 💓 Aware of a faster heartbeat 🦵 More prone to muscle cramps One of my inexpensive hydration favourites is San Celestino Italian Sparkling Mineral Water from Lidl. 🫧💧 Add fresh lemon, lime, mint or cucumber for a refreshing summer drink. 🍋🌿 Alternatively, you could try a glass of still water with: 🍋 A squeeze of fresh lemon 🧂 A very small pinch of Celtic sea salt 🧊 Plenty of ice Remember, more salt is not always better. Drinking excessive amounts of plain water or adding too much salt can also disrupt the body’s electrolyte balance. ⚠️ Important safety note: This post is for general educational purposes and is not intended to override prescribed medication or medical advice. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before increasing your salt or electrolyte intake, particularly if you have high blood pressure, heart or kidney disease, diabetes, fluid restrictions, or take diuretics, blood-pressure medication or other prescribed medicines. Seek medical support if fatigue, dizziness, confusion, weakness, fainting or heart palpitations persist or worsen. 💚 Stay cool, sip regularly and pay attention to what your body is telling you. 🔥 Feeling Drained? Your Electrolytes Could Be Running Low 💧⚡
🌾 Are you feeling a rumble? Bloated more than not? Let's talk FIBER — your gut's best friend 💛
Ever wonder why some days you feel light and energized, and others... not so much? A lot of it comes down to fiber. Fiber is the fuel that feeds your gut bacteria 🦠. Those good bugs ferment it into short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) — compounds that calm inflammation, strengthen your gut lining, and even support your mood and metabolism. No fiber = hungry, unhappy microbiome. And an unhappy microbiome shows up as bloating, sluggish digestion, brain fog, and cravings you can't explain 😩 Here's the twist though: not all fiber is equal, and more isn't always better if your gut is already inflamed or sensitive. The type, the amount, and how you introduce it all matter — which is exactly what we'll be diving into soon 👀 ✨ Quick fiber wins to try today: 🥑 Add ground flaxseed or chia to breakfast 🥦 Eat the skins on veg where you can 🫘 Swap white rice for lentils or beans a few times a week 🍎 Whole fruit > juice, every time 👉 Drop a 🙋 below if bloating, irregularity, or low energy sounds familiar — I want to know what YOUR gut struggles are. And keep your eyes peeled... a brand new GUT RESET programme is coming very soon 🔥 Built to help you rebuild your microbiome the right way, step by step. Who's in? 👇 🎬 Show me how you're feeling right now with your favourite GIF! Bloated? Gassy? Feeling great? Drop it in the comments 👇👇
