Adobe Announces Premiere Mobile — Free Editing App Coming Soon
Adobe just announced Premiere Mobile, a new editing app that’s free, uncluttered, and they say, doesn’t feel like a toy. It’s got a multitrack timeline, 4K HDR editing, one-tap AI tools like Enhance Speech, plus Firefly features like turning text or even your own voice into sound effects. You can even transform images into video to fill gaps in your edit. Plus you can transfer your projects to the desktop app for finishing or final polish.
As someone who’s spent decades cutting on pro systems, I find this move by Adobe really intriguing. CapCut has set the standard for mobile editing, and it makes me wonder if Adobe can put a dent in that firmly established base. From a “pro” editor’s perspective, the idea of cutting on a phone still feels like a big leap. But we’ve seen seismic shifts before in this industry, and it’ll be fascinating to see if Adobe can change the game here.
