Just Research Thought
After auditing over 7+ SaaS brands, I realized something: The winning strategy isn't always a secret rocket science formula.
Often, it’s just the raw power of quality backlinks.
I was digging into Klenty’s data recently—not to criticize, but to understand how they maintain their rankings.
What I found was a classic case of authority vs. content type.
The AI Content Paradox
We’ve seen Google’s recent updates hit many sites using heavy AI content.
However, many big SaaS players continue to use AI-assisted content and stay at the top.
Why?
The answer: Their Backlink Moat.
When your domain is strong enough, Google trusts you more. Even if the content is AI-driven, the high authority shields the site from updates that would normally sink a smaller blog.
Let’s look at the math (it’s wild!):
According to my research, Klenty has roughly
Total Pages: ~120
Total Backlinks: 136,000
Referring Domains: ~2,000
If we do a quick distribution analysis: 136,000 backlinks ÷ 120 pages = ?
Go ahead and do the math in the comments. The number of links per page is staggering! 🤯
My Takeaway:
Most brands aren't winning because their content is human-perfect—they are winning because they focused on building a massive backlink foundation early on.
If they stopped building links today, those AI pages might finally feel the heat of the Google updates.
I want to hear from you:
Do you think a strong backlink profile is a get-out-of-jail-free card for AI content?
Which other SaaS brands have you noticed relying purely on authority rather than content depth?
