So, You know i didn't really take Sunday off right? Nor did I get to IKEA, decided to order what i needed and pay the ridiculous delivery charge. Four hours of time and $50 in gas to get $130 shelf vs ordering and paying $70 in shipping and getting it in 10 days.
Spent most of the day on the couch, various sons coming and going dealing with 4th of July party aftermath. Worked on my phone for half the day and finally went downstairs to grab a laptop because long copy/paste of sql code was getting frustrating.
Had to get second laptop because that's where my curren fable project was running (Bookweaver in WCP and review and updates of non-fiction creation--getting better but still not really happy with it.
And was actually doing serious writing efforts on a book idea I'm truly in love with, but do not think I can pull off. Subtle subplots, two different timelines, Pacing in one is long at the beginning and pacing in the other is short. Midway in Act II this reverses and the primary timeline gets shorter, and the secondary takes over and gets longer. I spent a lot of time in the story development room going back and forth and weaving this tale together until it is exactly what I want. Cool.
And in the process sucked down over $100 in openrouter time because I was on OPUS 4.8, not Sonnet 4.5 or Gemini Flash 2.5 where I started with it. Somehow in going back and forth and using Opus and fable for the coding side I left it too high. Crap! And then on top of it, In trying to get all the details just right Story Development was almost 90,000 words. My Outline worked out to 65,000 words. I do not expect BookWeaver to do very well with this, nor would it even import it from the binder.
Back to coding...After several hours my friend Fable tells me we may have finally gotten it right. in the mean time I've manually revised more of my story, worked on a second one that is tattered. Looked at my backlog as to what is close enough to go ahead and publish (TWO!!) and tested the updates to the Nonfiction room creating a how to in making Faux stained glass with a 3d printer. The hardest part of this kind of book is putting to gether the catalog of images you need to put together and then create them, either camera shots of the real deal or AI images where possible. MOs of this will be actually doing a couple of projects and shooting every step to add to the text.
OH! And while I was working on my phone on a project at the dinner table and throwing out some random ideas from plotcrafter to my wonderful and amazing wife, she had an idea for a story that she worked out her own brainstorm for yesterday (and its really good) and she started using WordCrafter.pro last night developing it (We both crashed at some point after 4AM and I was at work a bit after 9AM, only 2 of the 4 on my team at the office today). So I'm now also getting first hand insight at a total new user. She last looked at it over 2 months ago and was workign with the PWS Skill set directly in Claude then. Moral of this story... Watch your costs. I'm actively researching Anthropic's new caching system and condensing the token Overhead WCP uses. Part of that will be reducing the conversationalism in the skillrooms without losing the functionality. It is a fine balance between creativity and pure functionality. They're creativity and analysis of what we send them and chat with them is what makes the system work, but sometimes their answers are more verbose than necessary
