I'm Alexandra Theroux (she/her), and I'm thrilled to be one of the newest additions to the AI-First Consulting team as an AI Operations Specialist 🎉 My background is in Healthcare and Nonprofit, and for a long time, I was pretty skeptical about AI. But I've always been fascinated by how digital systems can streamline operations, making everyday tasks easier and freeing people up to focus on the parts of their jobs they truly excel at or enjoy. I'm brand new to actually using AI, and I'm incredibly excited to learn more about its possibilities, especially how it can genuinely help people and organizations, and how we can adopt it ethically and in line with our values (and help others do the same!). A little about me: I've lived in Nova Scotia my entire life – born and raised in Lower Sackville, spent years in Amherst, and have been back in Halifax since 2015. Outside of work, I'm a visual artist, so I have some strong feelings about AI image generation and its impact on the arts. I also absolutely love helping people solve problems or discover new ways of doing things that make their daily lives a bit easier. And perhaps most importantly, I have a very silly 3-year-old rescue dog named Goose who has totally become my whole personality! 🐶😂 I'd love to hear from you all! Very interesting—thanks for the invite! I'm a data analyst and paid media advertiser, working remotely for a small marketing agency. I wear many hats and I'm using AI more and more every day, for research, coding, editing, and image generation. I'd like to learn how to build out more sophisticated use cases, such as custom chatbots and data warehouses. I'd like to make automating my job my main job!

Im working in research commercialization and economic development. My organization has conducted an Atlantic Canada AI Roundtable and completed an AI research asset map of the region. We will be sharing our findings soon.

Howdy everyone, I'm Mike, one of the SMEs from the STFX and DNS micro-credential. I run an SEO Consultancy and have been using Gen AI for almost two years in my business's daily operations. I am also teaching an in-person workshop for Tourism Operators in both Cape Breton (on Thursday this week, sold out) and in January for the Valley Ren (sign up at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/ai-for-daily-tourism-operations-tickets-1097318431969?aff=oddtdtcreator) I am learning something new about Gen AI every day, and today, I discovered how to download Google My Business reviews from https://takeout.google.com/?pli=1. I can then feed this information into Claude or ChatGPT to learn more about my reviewers' sentiments. I am excited to be here, and thanks for having me @Robert Newcombe .
