Sundays are my non negotiable hike with my husband. I almost didn't go today. I had stuff to get done....... BUT.....
How I rest & recharge:
I used to treat rest like a reward. Burnout taught me that lesson the hard way.
Now, I plan rest like I plan work.
It’s on my calendar — non-negotiable.
My biggest trigger to rest?
When I start pushing through instead of listening.
When everything feels urgent.
That’s my cue to slow down, not speed up.
For me, rest looks like:
– hike with Ben
– music + movement
– quiet evenings with my family
– stepping away before exhaustion makes the decision for me
Burnout isn’t proof you’re committed.
It’s proof something needs to change.
👇 Question I’m curious about:
How do you know when rest will move you forward instead of setting you back?
