✅ 4 Inspiring AI Literacy Prompts To Try
1) “AI as Apprentice” Job-Site Simulator What you do: Students treat AI like a new hire. They must give clear instructions, safety constraints, and then verify with real evidence. Example: In Auto, students paste a repair order and constraints (tools available, time limit). AI drafts an SOP. Students mark what’s correct, what’s risky, and what must be checked in the service manual. Prompt used: You are my CTE classroom “apprentice.” I will paste a work order and constraints. Return: 1. A step-by-step plan written like an SOP 2. A safety checklist (PPE, hazards, controls) 3. A tools/materials list 4. 5 “verify-before-doing” items (what MUST be confirmed from manuals/code/specs) 5. A short note: what you are uncertain about and what evidence would resolve itWork order + constraints: [paste here] 2) “Prompt-to-Performance” Skills Rubric + Evidence Tracker What you do: Students submit their prompt, the AI output, and proof they verified it (photos, measurements, citations, datasheets). You grade the process, not just the final product. Example: In Construction, students attach an “AI Use Log” to a blueprint reading assignment showing what AI suggested and how they confirmed it with code/spec sheets. Prompt used: Create a student-friendly rubric (4 levels) for this task: [task]. Include categories for: - Problem framing (clarity, constraints) - Prompt quality (specificity, role, format requests) - Verification (sources, measurement, testing) - Safety/ethics (privacy, bias, compliance) - Final product qualityAlso create a one-page “AI Use Log” template students fill out with: prompt, output, what they kept, what they rejected, how they verified, and what they’d do differently. 3) “Hallucination Hunt” Using Real Industry Docs What you do: Students catch AI mistakes by using official references (SDS sheets, service manuals, OSHA guidance, code excerpts, patient protocols, spec sheets). Example: In Welding, AI recommends an incorrect PPE setup. Students cite the safety sheet and correct it.
