My name is Dr. Donna Wakefield. I’m a professor of special education with experience across K–12 and higher education, focusing on inclusive teaching, language and literacy, assistive technology, UDL, and differentiated instruction.
My work centers on supporting learners with diverse needs, particularly those with significant cognitive and communication differences. My research explores UDL, AI in teacher preparation, inclusive practices, and disability representation in literature.
I’m passionate about using technology thoughtfully and ethically to improve access and learning, and I enjoy collaborating with others who are committed to equity and inclusion.
