Live Coding Interviews vs LC
Today I had a technical interview via Coder Pad. I feel like I crushed it. I was able to explain my code as I wrote it and my solutions worked almost immediately. The first one did, the second one I had a few typos to work through. Around 8 Weeks of algo practice on LC and a few other places and I barely feel like I'm where I was a few years ago when I binged on this stuff for about 4 months. To be fair, I'm still struggling with hard LC problems and I don't think I'm ready for a FAANG interview but to date, this is the best I've felt after doing one of these. If you haven't done a "whiteboarding" interview before here are 3 things to know: 1. You are not always expected to solve the problem 2. Most companies look for 2 things: problem solving and communication 3. Communication is more important for some companies FYI I don't want to say the company name, but I will say they are a large financial firm that you have probably heard of
