Another two AI developers are shutting down their tools this week, sending out farewell emails. And they won’t be the last. As multi-modal AI platforms take over, the smaller tools just can’t keep up. The AI landscape is shifting fast—adapt or disappear.
It's hard to compete with these multi-modal AI companies when you are a small developer so I guess it's time to go very niche instead of general because what I've noticed is that every one of these multi-modal platforms are curating the most commonly used general AI tools. So, in order to stay alive, you will have to go niche! Forget about creating an image generator and the like and focus on an industry specific AI tool! We will discuss this in my next AI Workshop on 3/22. We need to build strategically to get ahead in this AI wave.
What do you think? Are we heading toward AI consolidation, or is this just the start of a new wave?
