Friday: Joy Is Sometimes Just One Song Away
Today turned out to be a pleasant day. The rain stopped earlier than expected, which made it easier to get out and run a few errands. Sometimes itās the small things ā like the rain clearing ā that make the day feel lighter.
While working on my childrenās gospel movement playlist, something unexpected happened.
I started listening to a couple of the songs⦠and before I knew it, I was singing and moving along with the children in the videos.
And let me tell you something ā my heart filled with such joy.
Thereās something so pure about hearing children sing about Jesus with all their hearts, clapping and dancing without a single worry in the world. It lifted my spirit so high that I realized what a powerful anti-depressant joy can be.
Sometimes we search for complicated answers to lift our mood, when something as simple as music, movement, and childlike faith can change everything.
Also, donāt forget that Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, so weāll be springing our clocks forward one hour. A little reminder from Grandma Grady so nobody shows up an hour early for anything. š
If you ever find yourself feeling down or heavy-hearted, I encourage you to try something simple.
Click this link and spend a few minutes watching these beautiful children singing and dancing for the Lord. I promise it will lift your spirit the same way it lifted mine.
Sometimes the best medicine for the heart is simply JOY.
REFLECTION
Joy is one of Godās greatest gifts.
It doesnāt always come from big events or extraordinary moments. Often it arrives quietly through small things ā a song, a laugh, a childās voice, a moment of movement, or a reminder of Godās goodness.
Children remind us how simple joy can be.
They sing freely.
They move without embarrassment.
They celebrate life without overthinking it.
Maybe part of growing spiritually is not becoming more complicated⦠but learning to return to that childlike joy again.
Today reminded me that joy is always closer than we think. Sometimes all we need to do is press play.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of joy.
Thank You for the simple things that lift our spirits ā music, laughter, childrenās voices, and moments that remind us of Your goodness.
Help us never become too busy, too serious, or too distracted to experience the joy You place around us each day.
When our hearts feel heavy, remind us that joy is still available through You.
Bless each person reading this today. Fill their homes with peace, their hearts with hope, and their spirits with the quiet happiness that comes from knowing they are loved by You.
In Jesusā Name, Amen. š
Until tomorrow, may you feel useful, connected, and hopefulāand remember, you are never alone.
With love,
Grandma Grady š
