1.16.26 ~ Friday Reflection & Prayer
FRIDAY ~FREEDOM and JOY
Today feels lighter.
I’m outside in my backyard again—jeans on, baseball cap pulled low, no agenda pressing in. The air feels different at the end of the week, as if creation itself knows it’s time to loosen its grip.
The cherry tree stands just as it is right now. No blossoms. No leaves.Just quiet strength.
This morning, I found myself standing near the koi pond, wrapping my arms around that tree beside the waterfall—the water still flowing, even in the cold.
And it made me smile.
Trees don’t rush their seasons. They don’t apologize for looking empty. They don’t question whether they’re still valuable when nothing is blooming.
They simply stand—rooted, present, and alive.
Some days call us to act. Some days call us to listen. And some—like today—invite us to simply enjoy being alive without needing to prove a thing.
Joy doesn’t always look like celebration. Sometimes it looks like peace. Sometimes it feels like connection.
TODAY'S REFLECTION
This weekend, find a tree you can hug and embrace simply standing....touching beauty....remembering that you belong. Enjoy the peace of feeling alive by connecting.
PRAYER
God, Thank You for the gift of simple joy.
Teach us to release the pressure to bloom on demand and to trust the season we’re in.
Help us recognize that even when nothing looks like it’s happening, life is still flowing, growth is still present, and we are still held.
Amen. 🙏
Until tomorrow, may you walk gently, trust deeply, and remember—you are never alone.
Love,
Grandma Grady
