Trees of Old
Ancient wisdom.
Timeless intelligence.
Roots that stretch deep towards the Earth's core.
Touch them.
Hug them
Thank them.
Breathe the air that they aid in cleaning.
In silence,
Listen to them.
They tell stories if you listen.
Even by observation.
Strong trunks
With bumps and scrapes
Yet still in place.
Unmoved.
Unshaken.
Unless the Earth gets to quakin.
They remind me of a slow process
With a strong foundation.
They put me in the mindset
Of stillness and dedication.
Where society says,
"Do to receive",
The trees say,
"I just be, and it comes to me".
Trees be wealthy
'Cuz they roots so deep,
And in autumn they spread seeds.
It's the humans that call em weeds.
But them trees,
them weeds...
Have stories to tell too.
