Theme: The Other Side of the Story

Every story has more than one version, but not every version gets heard. Perspective shapes truth, and what we believe about others is often built on fragments, assumptions, or incomplete understanding. Sometimes we are misread. Sometimes we misunderstand. Today we explore the voices behind the narrative—the ones overlooked, misinterpreted, or never asked to speak.

Prompt 1 - The Version They Didn’t Hear

Write from another person’s perspective, especially someone whose experience differs from your own. Practice empathy. Let their voice stand on its own without your interpretation shaping it.

Prompt 2 - The Version of Me You Invented

Write about being judged off fragments instead of facts. Half conversations. Outside opinions. Old versions of you. What did it cost you to be misunderstood? What did it teach you about perception, truth, or letting people be wrong?

Write about the things people assume instead of asking about. The chapters they skipped. The weight behind your smile. The survival behind your silence. If they really knew what you carried, would they treat you differently?
