Seasons of change
So although recently diagnosed, I have assumed I had this diagnosis for years. The first time I remember questioning it was in high school. I also have family members my Dad and Brother who were diagnosed like early 2000's.
So here are the times I remember my symptoms getting worse:
High school
During medical crisis's and I am being gaslit
When I had my first kid
Covid shut down but I was a medical worker so exempt
When my Dad died
When I had my second kid
Deciding I wanted to be a coach
Now when I had my 3rd kid
Even getting the diagnosis itself was a lot of being gaslighted. It took me 8 years so even before my kids to finally get a doctor to consider it. Looking back I recognize the symptoms I had as a kid. And now that I am waiting for my daughter to be tested, I see how she reminds me of younger me.
