🐍 Dogs and Snakes!
I’m adventuring in Penticton for a couple of weeks and wonder if I should be concerned about snakes! Anyone from the area who can give me some intel? Should I carry something for my dog in case we have an encounter or she gets bit? She’s generally uninterested in conflict but if we’re surprised I have no clue what to do. I consider adding a gif but changed my mind because so many people have snake phobias!
🎒 QUICK TIP: DAISY CHAIN LEASH MAGIC! 🐾✨
Ivy is off leash on many of our hikes — sniffing, exploring, enjoying the freedom (earned by her good training). 🌲 But some spots call for a quick safety leash: cliff edges, sudden wildlife, other dogs… or just that “uh-oh, hold up!” moment. Enter my daisy chain collar + long line system. 💡A piece of webbing or cord clips onto her collar and instantly becomes a long line when I need it. One moment she’s roaming free, the next she’s safely on leash — all in seconds. ⏱️ 🔹 Perfect when the terrain is tricky 🔹 Adjustable length for your dog and space 🔹 If you can tie a slipknot or crochet chain, you can make one 🔹 Always ready-to-go 📍YOUR TURN: What leash do you use while out adventuring with your dog? I filmed a short demo — check it out! Have you tried a daisy chain leash? How did it go? 📸🐕

Boot laces
I was reminded today of this little video I did and I thought it may be useful for those who wear boots and trainers with laces and get fed up with them undoing all the time or loosening off as you walk! I got so fed up I did a bit of a Google and found this! Game changer! Now you may already do this when tieing your shoes! Some people also recommended using a surgeons knot to start; but I find this works ok! I do it on all my laces now and OH uses it on his golf shoes which prior he was stopping all the time to re-tie!

Packing Chaos… Can You Relate? 🧭🐶🎒
I’m heading out yet again… and this time Ivy is coming with me! 🐶💼 Two and a half weeks of adventure ahead: 🌲 Day hikes 🎒 Overnight backpacking 🚗 Road tripping & car camping 👩‍💼 Visiting friends 📅 A professional event for a day I have to admit—the planning and packing list is a little overwhelming. 😅 I’m the type of person who has ALL the lists: one for hiking, one for backpacking, one for car camping… and back in the day, one for dog sports events too! (I've finally deleted the children packing list from my computer 😝. Yes, I have two grown daughters for those who want to know. 👧🧒) Now it’s just the dog gear/backpack list—but it’s still huge. Here’s a link to my go-to gear list if anyone wants to peek: LINK 🧭 Poor Ivy… she’s starting to look a bit anxious with piles of gear everywhere and my daily routines all over the place.🙀 What’s your packing routine when you’re going somewhere? Does your dog get stressed? Do you have a trip planned soon? 🐾💚
