Problem dogs! (Free range dogs running up to you & your dog!). What do you do?
A question I've got asked a lot over the years is; "How do I deal with off leash dogs running up to my on leash reactive dog?! ...or even the other way around! Some people know their dog is reactive and yet they don't leash or muzzle them! It's unacceptable to expect other dog owners to have to deal with an out of control dog! What do you think? I have my own suggestions, but would love to hear others...🤗

So here's a little moment of Ivy, exploring the pond near our house (my husband caught this on video!). 🦆🌱 Usually Ivy ignores frogs (and snakes), but she was quite intrigued by them here. Now, here's the tricky part: The pond's by a road, so it's already a bit disturbed, but still... is it okay to let her explore like this? 🤔 I think about this a lot: ✔️ Responsible Adventure: Giving our dogs freedom to explore is awesome, but we have to consider their safety andthe environment. ✔️ Wildlife Disturbance: Ivy's calm around frogs, but are we still disturbing the habitat, even in a disturbed area? 🤷‍♀️ ✔️ Navigating the Balance: It's a balancing act — letting our dogs enjoy the outdoors while being mindful of the world around us. I’m far from perfect, but I try to be thoughtful about these things. I’ve let my dogs roam in places like this before, but it’s always a question of how much to let them explore. What are your thoughts? How do you balance adventure with environmental responsibility? Let’s hear your experiences! 🌍🐕

I promised Maren I would look after you I have a very special treat - At Hoomans Offlead Tomorrow!!!! 🥳 7pm UK time My very good friend and fellow Canine Advocate Sarah Jones will be joining us to talk about her dogs in yellow movement. Just one fo the very special guests we invite into the community to share their wisdom about how we can advocate for dogs worldwide. Sarah Jones founded My Anxious Dog after noticing her own dog, Bella, became reactive and fearful. To help communicate Bella's needs, Sarah began using yellow ribbons and accessories to signal that she required space and not affection from passersby, and not random dogs running up to us without an owner in sight 🙄 We've all had this happen to us right ? Recognising this was a need shared by thousands of anxious dogs and their owners, Sarah expanded her concept into the #DogsInYellow awareness campaign and product range, including harnesses, leads, collars, hoodies, posters, and awareness packs Come and join the chat as Sarah explains the dogs in yellow movement and how we can get involved if that's what you want Could this be exactly what yours or a friends dog needs so they can navigate the world without fear 🥹 Link to join us tomorrow night at 7pm UK time -----> https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81942835767?pwd=DuNipXe03izy1Gd74ZjRaAhJjkw8sx.1
