So here's a little moment of Ivy, exploring the pond near our house (my husband caught this on video!). 🦆🌱
Usually Ivy ignores frogs (and snakes), but she was quite intrigued by them here.
Now, here's the tricky part: The pond's by a road, so it's already a bit disturbed, but still... is it okay to let her explore like this? 🤔
I think about this a lot:
✔️ Responsible Adventure: Giving our dogs freedom to explore is awesome, but we have to consider their safety andthe environment.
✔️ Wildlife Disturbance: Ivy's calm around frogs, but are we still disturbing the habitat, even in a disturbed area? 🤷♀️
✔️ Navigating the Balance: It's a balancing act — letting our dogs enjoy the outdoors while being mindful of the world around us.
I’m far from perfect, but I try to be thoughtful about these things. I’ve let my dogs roam in places like this before, but it’s always a question of how much to let them explore.
What are your thoughts? How do you balance adventure with environmental responsibility?
Let’s hear your experiences! 🌍🐕
