Language is everything, and as entrepreneurs, we often forget just how powerful it is when used intentionally.
Earlier today, I walked past a woman dressed for summer, deep in conversation on her phone. I won’t repeat what she said, let’s just say the words were… colourful. But it struck me: in a single sentence, she revealed more about her world, her values, and her circle than most surveys ever could.
It reminded me of one of the golden rules of copywriting: if you don’t speak your customer’s language, you risk sounding clueless, out of touch, or irrelevant.
And here’s the truth, if I were trying to reach her demographic, I’d be lost unless I understood not just what they talk about, but how they talk about it. That’s the art: blending into the conversation they’re already having in their own head.
So, here’s the takeaway: do you speak your customer’s language? ( you know Alex does) If not, make it a priority. It will change the way you connect, sell, and serve forever.
