“I am not an artist…”
Because I only create in the evening, when the day has finally loosened its grip.
Because I don’t sell my work, it just lives quietly in drawers or on my phone.
Because it’s not good enough, not polished, not quite there.
Because it’s just a hobby, something I dip in and out of.
I am not an artist…
Because I only write a few lines before I stop.
Because I leave things unfinished.
Because I lose confidence halfway through.
Because I don’t have the right tools.
Because I haven’t been trained.
Because I don’t do it every day.
Because I compare myself to others and fall short.
Because no one is watching.
Because sometimes, I forget I even started.
We tell ourselves these things so softly, so often, they begin to feel like truth.
But they aren’t.
Creating does not belong to a schedule.
It does not ask for permission or proof.
It does not require an audience, or a price tag, or a finished piece at the end.
Today, that changes ! 🙌🏻🫶🏻
Whether you pick up a pencil once in a while,
or whisper ideas into the notes app on your phone…
Whether you begin things and never quite reach the end,
or return to them months later with different hands and a softer heart…🥰
You are still creating.
And that is enough.
There is no single way to be an artist.
No neat definition to fit inside.
No box to tick, no path to follow.
There is only this quiet, steady pull
to make something from nothing.
And if you feel that…
then you already are. 🩶💜🩶
