A little thought on the discipline of being creative…
We often think creativity is about inspiration…
those magical moments where ideas just arrive.
But the truth is…
creativity is also about showing up. 🙌🏻
Not in a harsh, rigid way…
but in a quiet, steady, I’ll meet myself here again kind of way. 🌸
Discipline doesn’t have to mean pressure.
It can look like care. 💜🙏🏼
It might be:
• opening your sketchbook even when you don’t feel like it
• writing one sentence instead of none
• sitting with an idea without rushing it
• returning to something gently, again and again
It’s less about forcing…
and more about allowing space for creativity to find you.
Because the more we show up…
the more creativity begins to trust us.
And over time, it becomes less about waiting for inspiration…
and more about building a relationship with it.🫶🏻
A soft rhythm.
A quiet promise to yourself.
Not perfect. Not finished.
Just… continued.
We don’t need to be intense to be disciplined.
We just need to be consistent… even in the smallest ways.
So maybe the question isn’t
“am I feeling creative today?”
But instead…
“can I sit with it for a moment anyway?”
