A little reflection on being an artist… 🌿
Today’s calm comes from a short video I made about something I think we don’t talk about enough…
The misconceptions of being an artist.
We’re so often shown the finished piece…
the polished version…
the part that looks like it all came together so easily.
But most of the time… it doesn’t feel like that at all.
It feels like starting without knowing.
Pausing.
Questioning.
Leaving things unfinished.
And I think sometimes we quietly believe that means we’re doing it wrong.
But what if that is the process?
What if the unfinished parts… the in between… the uncertainty…
are actually where the real creativity lives?
In the video, you won’t see a final piece.
And that’s kind of the point.
Because being an artist isn’t about always arriving somewhere…
it’s about staying with something, even when it feels unclear.
🤍
If you’ve ever felt like your work isn’t “finished enough” or “good enough”…
this is your gentle reminder… you’re not doing it wrong.
You’re right where you need to be ❤️
✨ I’d love to know… how do you feel about unfinished work ?
