11.7 months ago I set off on a journey to change from time based income to asset based income I worked in direct to home sales (aka door to door but direct to home sounds classier) and even though I was making great money It’s a hard job enough to make a grown man cry… And I didn’t want to have to trade my time, sweat, blood and tears for money anymore. I understood that the wealthiest people in the world were the ones that controlled assets but didn’t know exactly what assets would be best for me to control Even though I had some savings I didn’t have like a crazy amount that I was set for forever I considered buying a house and renting it but putting 30-50k down to break even or if I was lucky make $200-500/mo didn’t seem too appealing to me. (Real estate great for preserving wealth but not for creating it) I saw all the 17 year old crypto millionaires on yachts and looked into all sorts of trading, sports investing (aka sports betting), crypto, but all of it like I had no control over the outcome… like tossing money in the air as an offering to the market gods praying more would come back to me. So what asset could I own that could have the stability of real estate with the potential upside of the riskier gambly options?? After months of searching, failing, experimenting, losing lots of money I finally found this community, Travis, and realized that digital communities were exactly what I was looking for. A way I could put more energy into it if I wanted or find people to do it for me and it would keep growing without me. It blew my mind to see that if I put that same $50k I was going to put into a rental house into building/buying a community I would be lightyearssss ahead. Glad to be here now and I’m excited to learn with all of you so we all can become financially independent and retire early through communities! p.s.
