What is everyone working on this weekend?
what do you have cooking this weekend for your writing process?

I’m currently fighting with Antigravity, lol. The test novella I wrote for Valentine’s Day, purely to learn how AG works by following the class, absolutely drove me insane. I went through 21 (!!!!!!) editing rounds and that rude beta reader persona STILL refused to give me more than 3.5 stars instead of 4. It kept bouncing between 2, 3, and 3.5 stars, but neverrrr the magical 4. So I gave up, rolled with it, and I’m publishing it as is. I honestly just don’t want to look at it anymore 😂 Other than that, I’ve been setting up my entire workflow in Antigravity. One workspace per pen name, each with its own style sheet and bio. I created a skill that builds a full task list for a book from start to finish, all the folders and files (+ their needed format) I need to outline and write the next story, basically a skill for every single step all the way through translations, including three rounds of checks. I even added another skill that archives the project once I’m done so my workspace stays clean until the next book or series. It takes forever to set up, but once it’s done, every pen name follows the exact same process. I can just say “Continue with Step 4” instead of explaining what I want every single time. Peak laziness, honestly. And now I’m side eyeing my next MacBook Pro. Probably waiting until the new ones are announced in Feb or March. My current one, M1 from 2020, can’t handle more than one Antigravity instance at a time, and it drives me nuts that I can only work on one project at once. So much wasted potential. I want to wriiiiite. What's your plan for this weekend?

@Jennifer Jensen It really is useful, but it definitely still makes mistakes. I see it as something you refine from project to project. I’d honestly recommend just playing around with AG first and seeing what kind of workflow actually fits you, then slowly turning those steps into skills one by one. It’s definitely not one-size-fits-all. Everyone works and thinks differently. But that’s also the great thing about AG (and AI in general): you can shape it to work the way you need it to 🙂
Over-Editing
This is one of those loops I'm currently finding myself in. I'm writing a "quick" (that's in fricken quotes for a reason) MM Romcom - mainly for YT and also to test out Spoken (@Alexis Sacco is now certified to take projects over there)... My last STUPID edit (this is why I need to leave well enough alone) cut the book in half. Now I'm rewriting because I wasn't paying attention and it can't revert at the moment. How's your Monday going 🙄

@Rene Webb Same here! I'm editing two books right now and it says "three" all the time. Three minutes. Three hours. Three years. Three apples. Three EVERYTHING 😂
AG Error
Anyone else in AG running into errors only with Opus 4.6? I'm getting weird issues (i'd copy and paste if it would let me) and it's only with 4.6 - which I was trying to push today... but my patience has run thin with it. Thank goodness Sam's Club delivered me apple juice boxes instead of scrubbing bubbles or I'd have to really do something such as "work!"

My chat crashed a couple of times with a “restart interface” message. I also hit another error that just told me to click “continue,” but I don’t remember what it actually said, lol. Edit: Nope, it wasn’t Opus. Gemini just gave me an “Agent terminated due to error” message.
Pricing: How to avoid bankrupting yourself using AI tools
I’m on a very tight budget so always looking at the bottom line. I currently pay the $20 chatGPT sub and it’s well worth it. But would it be cheaper to buy credits and use OpenAI which I can then use in Antigravity etc? Any insight/tips on getting the best bang for my budget gratefully received.

Antigravity is free (for now) and doesn’t require an API key, so I’m not entirely sure what you mean by buying credits and using OpenAI through Antigravity. You can use tools like TypingMind and add your own API keys there, either individual ones or via OpenRouter, if you prefer that over the Playground. Whether GPT via API is cheaper than ChatGPT really depends on your workflow. You pay per input and output token, so things like prompt length, regenerations, and edits matter. With ChatGPT, you are paying a flat monthly fee instead. So honestly, it depends. Plenty of not so tech savvy authors are perfectly happy with a 20 dollar ChatGPT or Claude subscription. It is affordable and the chat interface feels much easier to use than working with raw prompts and parameters like temperature, top p or top k.
Antigravity price
Probably a dumb question, but are you all using the free Antigravity level? The pricing page tells me nothing. I'll post it here. Not sure why it's even called the Pricing page as there are no prices.
