Do we ever get together and practice speaking in this group?

I got this in an email and YOU BET I am gonna try it! Too good not to share so here you go! The Method: 1. Print out two copies of your script. 2. Read it out loud. 3. Then, black out one word on the script. 4. Read it again with the blacked-out word. 5. Let your memory fill in the blank. 6. If you make a mistake, look at the clean version, then try again. 7. Keep blacking out more words and reading until you're staring at a completely blacked-out page reciting the script from memory. That's when you breathe it. By the end they should have gone through the entire script as many times as there are words. Why This Works: Your brain memorizes through retrieval, not reading. Every time you fill in a blacked-out word, you force retrieval. The more you retrieve, the stronger the memory. Script Size: Scripts should rarely be more than 500 words - that's about 4 minutes of talking. This is completely doable.
