Hi Victor, I hope you're feeling better. Thanks for the tip, it is very good to know! Can I use that focus to open a dropdown menu inside a pop-up window? or make it quicker to open (for example by pressing Space after the pop-up window appears)?
Using ChatGPT to generate Blender Python code
Hello, Do you have any experience in using ChatGPT (or any other LLM) to help you with Python code for Blender? If so, when did you find it most useful? Anything interesting you found? What level of experience do you think is best to pickup tools like this? I have personally used it to generate some initial code, to debug code that doesn't work, to explain some existing code to me or even teach me some basics about Python. Having very little experience in Python it has given me mixed results depending on the complexity of what I am asking but it sometimes worked surprisingly well. Really interested to know your thoughts!

I just realized @Victor Stepanov made a brilliant video about this topic and found it very useful so I thought I would share it here for other people of this conversation to see if you haven't already! I found particularly insightful the following points: - Asking about errors to be explained rather than fixed, - Rewriting code rather than copy-pasting it - I liked the conclusion at the end about learning and the risk of being too lazy as it applies to more than coding! Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_ifOAcnKvo

@Clu from MWM Great insight, thank you for sharing!
Is It Worth the Time?
This is a great way to measure what is worth spending the time to automate. I love this xkcd table. 💖 If you are helping multiple people or a whole studio, you can multiply the cells by the number of people that will use it. Source: https://xkcd.com/1205/

@Victor Stepanov I like to think that when you automate a task, you don't simply complete that task, but create an algorithm which is much more interesting and useful! Learning is always good indeed, and coding can be seen as a form of art in itself: two algorithms might complete the same task but one of them can be a much better, more efficient and beautiful way of solving a problem!

@Victor Stepanov that's very cool! I didn't know about it 😄
🎨 Major Update: Color Harmony Generator is Here!
Another Huge Update for my Palette Renderer Add-on! 🎨✨ The add-on now comes with its very own Color Harmony Generator, making it super easy to generate color palettes based on real color theory rules: 🎭 Monochromatic – Different shades of the same color 🌿 Analogous – Neighboring colors on the spectrum 🎯 Complementary – Opposites that create strong contrast 🔺 Triadic – Three evenly spaced colors 🟥 Tetradic – Four colors forming a rectangle on the wheel 🎭 Split-Complementary – A base color + two adjacent complementary colors 🎲 Random, yet harmonious – Because why not? 😆 And that’s not all! I’ve added Saturation and Brightness controls, so I have even more power over my color choices—whether I want soft pastels, vibrant pops, or deep, moody tones. Bonus Update: The Render Statistics Panel has also been revamped for better readability and now includes even more render-related info! Can't wait to hear what you think! 🚀🔥

@Tetiana Markov the Pantone issue makes sense, what about other libraries? Blender is not only used for digital purposes and is now a very widely used software in industrial design. Having the ability to import/export a library of colours (can be RGB) where pallettes can be created within them would still be a nice feature I think, for example if you had a limited amount of colours to play with. Or maybe I'm the only person who would find this feature useful that's also totally possible 😅. In my job for example I create bespoke car interior colour that we have developed based on existing colour developments (paint & leather) and often have to come up with different configurations that work visually using these predefined colours.

@Tetiana Markov That makes a lot of sense! Thank you for taking the time to explain 😊
GemCut Addon
Hi, everyone! I have finished working on the basic functionality of my addon and want to show the results. This addon is designed to create various gem cuts. The next thing planned is to add concave and maybe check for windowing (a window in gemstone is an area of the gem that is not returning light to the eye). I would really like to know your opinion about it!
