Skool DM Automation: Great in Theory, Terrible in Practice
i will never use automated DM sequences on Skool. here's a real example of why. lots of Skool tools now offer DM sequences. and the pitch makes sense. - it saves time. - keeps a line open with every member. - keeps your community top of mind. great in theory. terrible in execution. at least in everything i've seen. this morning i got a DM from someone who's a member of my community. i'm also a member of theirs. two days ago we chatted about them being in my community and booking a call. and then, i receive a message this morning. it was a friendly. something along the lines of: glad you're in the community, just popping in to say hi. before anyone reads this as a callout. it isn't. the person is great. the message, on its own, is great. BUT we talked two days ago. so a "just popping in to say hi" makes no sense. and the moment i read it, i suspected it was automated. the next message sounded scripted too. by then it didn't matter what it said. that's what Skool DM automation costs you. a good message, sent at the wrong moment, to someone who already in communication with you. WHAT TO DO INSTEAD i understand, sending DMs is a lot of work/time/effort. hence, do this instead: - have a library of DM templates for different situations. new member, went quiet, booked a call, no-show. - have a system - easy way - to track where each person is in their journey in your community. so you know which template fits before you hit send. - add personality. a voice note instead of text. a short video. short on time? even a gif beats a paragraph that reads like a bot. these are my fav gifs to follow up with ppl i talked before. DO NOT STEAL THEM ☢️ !!!! templates save the time. tracking keeps the context. the personal bit is you. ➡️ so what's your take on auto DMs, from both ends - sending and receiving them ?

@Lidia Axe I personally hate it both as a user and as service provider :D But I have to say the do work like 20-30% of the time. You just need to make sure your auto DMS are either really feeling like a personal msg or that you clearly state it's an auto DM. When i joined skool the first community I tried was Skool Dads. The first DM I got from them was a video of the guy personally welcoming me to the community. THAT FUCKING WORKED!
She Was Consistent for a Year. Here's Why That's Not Enough.
saw a post today from someone who's been consistent on Skool for a full year. my first thought wasn't "impressive." it was: does that move the needle? she doesn't have a ☘️ yet. neither do i, you might say. true! but i am working on it, hard. the real question is what actually does move it. not followers. not subs. not likes. what does? - presenting in other people's communities (borrowed trust) - commenting with real value in rooms that aren't mine (borrowed trust) - replying to every comment in my own community (must get better at it, with help of CRM) 10+ touches a day is not enough on its own — it's mechanical. the real strategy is showing up in the right places, giving value, and getting ppl to pay you! so, make sure you are tracking and celebrating the right thing.

@Lidia Axe That's what I preach and practice. I have a daily 4h slot in my calendar only dedicated to this. And I'm seeing results from it too. Since I stared last week I got 4-5 fully organic paying members!

Skool News | the Axe Verdict
the latest Skool updates. and the honest, unfiltered verdict from me. THE VERDICT (text and video below) i see Growth Boost is like a casino married to a financial pyramid: - if you are free, low ticket, low conversion/retention rates, forget it - no ads on you - if you are doing okay, they will include you in the carousel 🎠 which is no different from option 1. it means you only get visitors from discovery and search and profile. it means, they are growing Skool, you pay for it - if you are doing good (based on efficiency score we have not seen - but know how is calculated), you get dedicated campaign with $1-5k per day budget. but, let's get real here for a sec: if they do it for 100 communities, spending $3k on average, their daily ad spend is $300k, monthly - $9mln. well, do you believe that they have such investment? and even so, 100 communities is 0.16% BOOM! because, there 160k members in Skoolers. forget free communities. even then there are 60-80k paid communities. my real verdict is - i just don't see ppl joining small/ paid / expensive communities right away - focus on getting traffic to your community by yourself - they just announced "re-adjustment" so, sorry, you might not see results for next 1-2 weeks - getting your community into the carousel?? i see no value in it. and then, ppl search and find you and you pay Skool 30-70%. is it fair? - more importantly, you advertise, ppl go to skool, check your profile, join from there and you give Skool 30-70%. is this fair? --- here is the summary for the curious or find the recording in the Vault, as all previous recordings 🤩 New Features: - Skool reviews are now visible on Google. YEY. i could see them for Community Income Mastermind. but not for this community. it's weird. i will ask in Skoolers and update you once i understand the issue. - now Skool in the browser will autodetect the language and will translate the menu, and the content of the groups.

@Lidia Axe this is brilliant! And so honest! Love it! I think you've got a really strong point here. Growth boost is advertised as we get commission for running ads for your skool. Then fine print is that they take commission even from the traffic you generate yourself on skool NOT ads. I see a lot of people pissed off by this and a lot of people loving it. So i guess it depends on the unit economics as you cover it. My skool is my funnel for selling my product. I sell my product access out of skool so I am happy for skool to take the 70$ cut on my $1/month. I predict that skool will quickly realise that this is backfiring when people start opting out of this. Growth boost is not charity, it's a very aggressive affiliate scheme.

@Lidia Axe it's the FOMO effect. also i think the most vocal about it are the ones that are just starting.
